Getting the most out of your wall
Your wall is up and running. Here’s what else it can do — the features worth trying, and the settings that make it look and run its best. Each one’s a line here, with the full guide a click away.
Features worth trying
All of these are already on your TV, included in what you pay.
Add a clock, the weather, or an activity feed.
Widgets are tiles that aren’t cameras. Activity lists the latest motion and doorbell events across all your cameras; Clock and Weather do what they say. They move and hide like any tile.

Auto-Cycle shows each camera full screen in turn, for as long as you choose. Lovely on a big wall, and the easiest way to keep an eye on everything without touching the remote.

Any camera you fullscreen can play its sound. On Apple TV the wall can too: the highlighted camera plays its audio, and a background sound can play underneath. It’s all in Settings → Audio.

Picture in Picture →See who's at the door when they ring.
On Apple TV, a doorbell ring opens that camera full screen, or moves a floating Picture in Picture window to it.

Turn on Auto-hide sidebar and the icon rail tucks itself away while you’re watching, handing the extra screen real estate to your cameras. One press of Back brings it straight back.

Camera video is widescreen and tiles aren’t always. Auto decides per tile; Fill crops so there are never bars; Fit keeps every camera’s whole picture.

Once you know which tile is which, the labels are just something in front of the picture. Switching Show camera names off leaves the view completely unobscured.

Three settings that make the wall look and run noticeably better.
Turn on 24/7 recording.
Continuous recording gives the smoothest live feed on the TV, and a complete event history to scroll back through. Wired cameras only — on a battery camera it would cost you battery life.

1080p streams to a TV noticeably more smoothly than 2K, and at TV viewing distance the two look nearly identical — quality you won’t miss, for performance you can see.
How to change it →Give each camera strong Wi-Fi.
Stream quality is set at the camera, not the TV. A camera with a solid signal — closer to the router, or covered by a mesh point — holds a cleaner, steadier feed.

One setting, and it's the highest-impact one in the app.
Put battery cameras on AUTO.
AUTO keeps feeds close to live while letting Ring rest the camera’s radio between events, which is what preserves the battery. LIVE holds a continuous stream — ideal for wired cameras. It’s set per camera, so you can have both.

The icons down the left of the screen — worth knowing, since nothing on the wall labels them.
On the wall itself: Select fullscreens the highlighted camera, and Back (Menu on Apple TV) returns to the grid. Press Back to bring the sidebar out — and if you’d rather it stayed tucked away, Auto-hide sidebar is in Settings.
Same icons on every platform; only the button names differ. On Apple TV, the app’s row on the home screen also shows your cameras — highlight the Video Wall icon and pick one to open it full screen.
