View motion events & activity

Watch a camera’s recent activity without reaching for your phone. Nothing is stored on the TV itself — you’re viewing the last 24 hours of events from your Ring account. It lives one button away from the fullscreen view, in the top-right corner, which is the part most people never find.

Fullscreen the camera you want.

From the wall, select a camera so it fills the screen. Event history is per camera — you’re always looking at one camera’s activity, not a combined feed.

Open the history button in the top-right corner.

In the top-right of the fullscreen view, next to the LIVE badge, is a clock-with-arrow icon — that’s history. Move to it with your remote and press Select.

Browse the recent events.

The camera’s events from the last 24 hours appear newest first, each with a thumbnail and how long ago it happened. Select one to play it.

Filter to narrow it down.

The tabs above the grid switch what’s listed: All for everything, With Video for events with a clip attached, and Motion for motion detections only.
Press Back (Menu on Apple TV) to return to the live view, then again to go back to the wall.

In the web app: In the web app, fullscreen a camera and choose History.

Not seeing many events? What gets recorded is set per camera in the Ring app — switching a camera to 24/7 recording gives it a continuous history instead of motion clips alone. Event history also needs a Ring Protect subscription, which Ring sells separately.
