Camera fit: fill or fit the tile

Camera video is widescreen; the tiles on your wall aren’t always. Camera fit decides what gives — crop the picture to fill the tile, or keep the whole frame and accept a bar above and below.

Not on every TV yet. Camera fit is on Apple TV, Fire TV, Google TV, the Mac and Windows apps, and the web app, but not on Roku yet.

Open Settings on the TV.

Press Back (Menu on Apple TV) on your remote to bring out the sidebar, then highlight the gear icon and press Select.

Find Camera fit under Display.

On Apple TV, open Display first; on Fire TV and Google TV it’s the first row under the Display heading. The row shows your current choice — Auto to begin with.

Select it, then pick one of the three.

Auto decides per tile: a tall doorbell view fills its tile, a wide camera in a tall tile shows its whole frame. Fill (crop) crops every camera to its tile, so there are never bars. Fit (whole frame) shows every camera’s whole frame, with bars where the shapes differ. A check marks your choice, and you’re back in Settings with the wall already changed.
Two cameras side by side is where this matters most: the tiles are tall, so a wide camera either shows bars (Fit) or loses its sides (Fill). Full screen always shows the whole frame, whatever you pick.

In the web app: Settings → Wall → Camera fit, with the same three choices.

In the Windows app: View › Camera Fit (Auto, Fit or Fill), or Settings › Wall › Camera fit.

Tile spacing

Not on every TV yet. Tile spacing is on Apple TV and the Mac and Windows apps, but not on Fire TV, Google TV, Roku, or the web app yet.

One row below Camera fit: Tile spacing sets the gap between tiles — Normal, Tight, or None for edge-to-edge tiles with square corners, the way a security console looks.

Each TV keeps its own choice. Prefer no bars and no crop? A widget in the spare tile lets the grid pick a shape that suits your cameras.
