Born out of frustration
For as long as there have been security cameras, there’s been a wall of screens to watch them on — behind store counters, at guard desks, in control rooms. Every camera, live, at a glance. Nobody opens an app to check those cameras. They just look up.
We run Ring cameras ourselves, and there was a TV right there on the wall. So we went looking for the app that would put them on it — and there wasn’t one. No app, no setting. Our cameras stayed in a phone: a pocket, a password and three taps away from every single look.
The only route we could find was a clunky do-it-yourself solution. We went down the rabbit hole and bought a Raspberry Pi — a tiny computer the size of a deck of cards — assembled it, installed an operating system and software on it, and left it plugged in behind the TV with its noisy fan running 24/7, all to get our Ring cameras onto the screen. It sort of worked. Ring kept logging us out, it showed exactly one camera at a time, and that was more or less the entire feature list. There had to be a better way.
Video Wall was born out of that frustration. We’re a small team of software developers and builders in New York, and making the thing that should exist is the itch we know how to scratch. Once the wall on our own TV worked, we shipped it for everyone who’d gone looking and found nothing — today it runs on Apple TV, Fire TV, Google TV, and Roku, in living rooms, corner stores, dealerships and at more than a few security desks.
We also believe this belongs in everyone’s hands. A live camera wall used to mean an “enterprise-grade” system — a rack in a closet, an installer, a contract. Video Wall is an app on the streaming device you already own, at a price for a household or a small business, not a headquarters.
We do everything ourselves, on purpose. The people who design the product, write the code and answer the support inbox are the same people — so nothing about Video Wall is somebody else’s department.
Video Wall is an independent product, reviewed and approved by Ring and listed in the Ring App Store. Built by us, not by Ring.
What we believe
Native apps, built and polished for each screen they run on — down to how a tile fades in. If a detail would embarrass us in a demo, it doesn't ship.
Write to us and a developer answers — often the person who built the thing you're asking about. Half of what's on this site started life as someone's support email.
We never store or record your footage. The wall is live — when you look away, it's gone. And we never see your Ring password: you sign in through Ring's own page and can revoke access anytime.
No ads, no data sales, no “free” that gets paid for somewhere darker. A simple subscription pays for everything, so the only people we answer to are the ones watching the wall.
