Widgets: Activity, Clock and Weather

A widget is a tile that isn’t a camera: your cameras’ latest activity, a clock, or the weather. It sits in the grid beside your feeds and moves, hides, and goes full screen the same way.

Not on every TV yet. Widgets are on Apple TV, the Mac and Windows apps, and the web app, but not on Fire TV, Google TV, or Roku yet.

On Apple TV

Open Settings on the TV.

Press Back (Menu on Apple TV) on your remote to bring out the sidebar, then highlight the gear icon and press Select.

Select Widgets.

Three rows, one per widget. The value on the right shows whether each is on the wall and how it’s set.

Pick a widget and turn Show on wall to On.

Activity lists the latest motion and doorbell events across all your cameras, newest first, each with a snapshot. Clock shows the time and date, in a dark or light look. Weather shows current conditions and the next few hours for a US ZIP code, in °F or °C.

For Weather, enter your ZIP code.

Select ZIP code and type the five digits on the on-screen keypad. The town appears under the digits as soon as the last one lands, so you know it’s right before you press Done.

Place it like any camera.

Widgets appear in Settings → Cameras alongside your cameras. Use the arrows to move one, or select it to hide it without turning it off.
On the wall, select Activity for the full list — a recorded event plays its clip, a fresh alert opens that camera’s history. Select Clock or Weather to see it full screen; Back (Menu on Apple TV) returns to the wall.

In a web browser

Same widgets in the web app.

Open Settings (the gear, top right) and choose Widgets to add one. It lands on the wall as a tile you can drag into place or hide like any camera.

On a Mac

The same three tiles: Settings › Widgets, then turn on the clock, the weather (enter a ZIP code) or Activity. Drag them around the wall like cameras; right-click one to hide it. The Mac also has desktop widgets outside the app, in Using Video Wall on your Mac.

On a Windows PC

The same three tiles: Settings › Widgets, then turn on Clock, Weather (enter a ZIP code and click Save) or Recent activity. Drag them around the wall like cameras; right-click one to move, hide or remove it. More in Using Video Wall on Windows.

Activity checks each camera’s history every few minutes and picks up new motion and doorbell events within about half a minute. Weather covers US ZIP codes only. Motion events & activity has the detail on what Ring records.
