Camera blank or not loading?

Several things look like “not loading”, and they have different fixes. Pick what’s on your screen.

A black screen

Almost always a 2K camera. Switching it to 1080p brings it back.

In the Ring app, open that camera's Video Settings.

Tap the camera, then the settings gear, then Video Settings.

Set Video Resolution to 1080p.

It may be labelled Video Resolution, 2K Video or Ultra HD.

Reopen Video Wall.

The live feed returns within a few seconds.

Mostly Floodlight Cam Pro and other 2K cameras. On a TV, 1080p and 2K look nearly identical.

A tile that says Resume

A battery or solar camera conserving power — Ring ends live view after a short window and the tile freezes on the last frame. Press Select to wake it.
Happening constantly?
That camera’s streaming mode is the setting to look at — LIVE vs AUTO explains which suits which camera.

Only the last few tiles

You’ve hit the device’s decoding ceiling, not a fault on any one camera — every tile is a separate stream. Hide a few cameras and the rest come straight up.
Why does it only affect some devices?
A cheap streaming stick can decode far fewer streams at once than an Apple TV 4K or a computer. Choppy, freezing, or cutting out goes through it in detail. In a browser the wall handles this itself: extra cameras become snapshots and go live as you scroll to them.

Tiles say Up Next

Same cause as the one above — the device is out of decoding headroom, so tiles queue instead of going live. Hide a few cameras and the rest come up. Most common on the cheaper streaming sticks.

Marked Snapshots Only

That camera runs Ring Edge, and Ring’s partner platform doesn’t allow live streaming from it. Nothing to fix on your side — the tile refreshes a snapshot view, and motion events and clips play normally.
Is this a Video Wall limitation?
No — it applies to every third-party app, not just ours. Ring Edge is Ring’s local video processing, usually part of a Ring Alarm Pro setup. If Ring adds partner streaming for these cameras, we’ll turn live view on for them.

Marked Encrypted

That camera has end-to-end encryption turned on in the Ring app. Ring encrypts its video so that only the phone holding the key can play it, which means no TV, browser, or third-party app can show it, including Video Wall. The tile shows a snapshot view instead.
How to turn live view back on
In the Ring app, open Control Center → Video Encryption and turn end-to-end encryption off for that camera. Ring warns that this also re-enables previews and sharing that encryption had switched off. The camera goes live on the wall within a couple of minutes.

No alert when someone rings

On Apple TV, a doorbell ring opens that doorbell full screen while Video Wall is on screen, usually within 10 seconds. If a camera is floating in Picture in Picture over another app, the window switches to the doorbell instead. It’s on by default; turn it off in Settings → Display → Doorbell ring opens the camera.

On a Windows PC, turn on Open the doorbell camera when someone rings in Settings › Notifications: a ring opens the doorbell’s camera in a floating window with sound. Keep the notification-area icon on and it works with the wall closed. See Notifications.

On Fire TV, Google TV, Roku and the web app, and for motion on any TV, the wall doesn’t wake a tile or switch cameras. Press Select on the tile to go live. To see what just happened at a glance, add the Activity widget (Apple TV and the web app): it lists new motion and doorbell events within about half a minute.
Why doesn’t anything happen when Video Wall is closed?
Apple TV pauses apps that aren’t on screen, so a ring can only reach Video Wall while it’s open, or while one of its cameras is floating in Picture in Picture.
Why is my doorbell not just left live?
Doorbells default to AUTO on purpose. Holding a doorbell live occupies the camera, and while it’s occupied Ring can’t send you its own ring and motion alerts — so leaving it live on the TV would cost you the notifications on your phone. You can set it to LIVE per camera if you would rather have it always streaming.

A camera that's missing

No tile at all, rather than a tile showing the wrong thing. If you connected it recently, the TV is still holding the list it loaded at startup — quit Video Wall and open it again. Connecting a camera, and what to do when it doesn’t appear.

A QR or pairing code

That TV isn’t paired, so the wall never loaded — either it hasn’t been set up yet, or it was revoked from another TV. Pairing your TV walks through it; if you already had it working, removing and re-pairing a device is the same screen.
