Choppy, freezing, or cutting out
Four different faults look like this, and they have different fixes. Pick what your wall is doing.
Just one camera
Almost always that camera's own connection. In order of impact.
Drop that camera to 1080p.
2K is four times the data, and the camera’s uplink carries it. The exact taps.
Check its signal in Device Health.
Quality is set at the camera — no TV setting repairs a weak connection.
Put battery cameras on AUTO.
LIVE makes Ring pause the radio to save battery. LIVE vs AUTO.
Turn on 24/7 recording — wired cameras only.
An already-recording camera has a stream ready to hand. How to switch it on.
The whole wall
The player is out of decoding headroom — every tile is a separate stream, and a cheap stick runs out well before an Apple TV 4K does. Hide a few cameras or put the occasional ones on AUTO. Both reverse in a second, so either one is also the test.
In the web app: The browser handles this itself — a few tiles stay live and the rest show refreshing snapshots, following you as you scroll.
Every camera, suddenly
Not your setup. Feeds come straight from Ring to your TV, so check status.ring.com — an incident clears on its own.
A few seconds behind
Normal, and most noticeable on Roku. That’s the hardware, not a fault — nothing above needs changing.
