The logo, camera ID and timestamp on your video
Ring adds them to the video itself, and the clock runs on UTC. Here is what they are, and what can be changed.
The Ring logo, the camera ID and the timestamp are added directly to each video stream by Ring, for security. They are part of the picture before it reaches any app, so they look the same on your TV, in your browser, and in the Ring app itself.
The timestamp is UTC, which is the same time standard as GMT. It is not your local time and it does not follow daylight saving, so it can read hours ahead of the clock on your wall. On the US East Coast it runs four or five hours ahead, depending on the season.
None of it is generated or controlled by Video Wall. Ring does not currently offer a way to remove or customise the watermark, or to change the timestamp’s time zone, so there is no setting for it in Video Wall either. If Ring changes that, it changes on your wall without you doing anything.
